My name is Norma. I am a woman living in Norway. I am a trained Registered Nurse with special training as an oncology nurse. I work at a cancer ward at our county hospital here.
When not working I like to spend time with friends, family and my cats.
My other interests
is reading, traveling, movies, sudoku, among other things.
I live sometimes alone and sometimes with my daughter. My children are grown ups between 23 and 29 yrs old. I have my
own house with a large garden, where I built the first catrun in my garden summer of 2013.
I have had domestic cats most of my life. Gradually the interest for pedigree cats and indoor
cats became stronger and stronger. Partly because of all the negative aspects of having domestic cats running free. Some were killed in traffic, some badly hurt by cat fights, complaints and threats by neighboors to harm my cats if they entered their property,
etc...
Also it was a growing interest in me how each breed stayed within their standards through selective breeding.
I
searched the internet and in books about breeds to find the one for me. And I joined a local catclub to be able to attend lectures and meeting there. I bought books about breeds, gentics, cattery necessities,
how to be a serious breeder, cat organisations and tried to learn as much as possible while waiting for my first pedigree cat from USA.
I
fell in love with the discription of the Chantilly breed (formerly called Tiffany), and started to search for a breeder. That took me two years ! How that turned out you can read in the Cattery History.
After I had adopted my first Nebelung, intended as an out-cross for my Chantilly male, I fell in love with that breed as well. And since I had both breeds in my house already, the decission
to work with two breeds where made.
My physical cattery is still under construction, but I use the rooms I have. And I have a whole house + garden. I have built one extra room , and have the
possibilities for more when needed. And the summer of 2013 I built the first part of a catrun outside in my back garden. The summer of 2015 I put up a small garden playhouse, intended for kids, but mine was for my cats. Around the little house I built a larger
catrun. The garden has enough space for more or/and bigger catruns in the years to come.
My most important goals are :
-
To breed healthy and happy cats.
- To breed cats that meets the standard for their breed.
- To make more people aware
of these wonderful breeds.
- To make sure that each kitten born in my Cattery will end up in good forever-homes.
